In the last days of the Campaign “A crowd against blood feuds”, expired on the 30th of September, Operazione Colomba volunteers received many letters of answer sent by the newly elected Mayors. They were the the addressees of the questionnaire draft by the volunteers in order to raise awareness and pressure the institutions with the aim of fighting the blood feuds phenomenon, a plague that still afflicts the whole Country.
Today we post the answer from the Mayor of Pogradec,  Eduart Qemal Kapri. As usual, we shortly remind the questions and afterword the entire answer follows.

– How much is widespread the Blood Feuds Phenomenon in Your municipality?
– Which kind of measures would You like to adopt in order to face and eliminate the phenomenon?
– How do You think to pressure the Government to make sure it will implement the Law n. 9389/05? The one that provides for the establishment of a Coordination Council in order to fight against the Blood Feuds Phenomenon?

The answer from the Mayor of Pogradec

In response to your letter No. 267B/2015 dated 27.08.2015 addressed to the Municipality of Pogradec, in relation to the questionnaire about blood feuds phenomenon, we would like to inform you that according to the date of the administrative units and state institutions, the phenomenon does not exist.

Operazione Colomba would like to thank the Mayor of Pogradec for his kind cooperation, hoping that the meagreness of the data provided and the thriftiness used in the act of answering are given by the demanding institutional work and not by apathy and indifference, or lack of awareness and minimization of an important issue that needs to receive attention by all of the institutional representatives. Aiming to pursue our struggle against blood feuds, we will compare the answer form the Mayor of Pogradec with the data we have been collecting since 2010.
